UN Secretary General extends full support to India

New Delhi: UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon extended his full support to India in its fight against terrorism. Ban Ki Moon called up Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and agreed on the need for "full cooperation" by all to ensure that the perpetrators of Mumbai terror strikes are brought to justice. He expressed his determination to provide a lead role for the UN in dealing with the global menace of terrorism. Condemning the attack, the Secretary General expressed his deepest sympathies to the families of those killed and wounded in the three-day-long terror attack in Mumbai. Ban Ki Moon and Manmohan Singh agreed that it was critical to bring the perpetrators of the carnage to justice and all should fully cooperate in this effort, the UN Information Centre said. He commended the courage and resilience shown by the Security personals, Government and the people of India.
