WMD attack on US will be from Pak: US

Washington: The White House has reportedly agreed with a bipartisan congressional commission's report that the next WMD attack on the United States will originate from Pakistan. 'I have no reason to disagree with it,' the Dawn quoted White House Press Secretary Dana Perino as saying when asked if the White House agreed with the report. The bipartisan Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism reported earlier on Wednesday said: "Were one to map terrorism and weapons of mass destruction today, all roads would intersect in Pakistan, and that 'the focus of US policy should be to help Pakistan achieve political and economic stability." The commission briefed President Bush, Vice President-elect Joe Biden, senior congressional leaders on Wednesday and warned them 'it is more likely than not that a weapon of mass destruction will be used in a terrorist attack somewhere in the world by the end of 2013.' 'We recognize that there is more to do, but what we have done is provided a really good foundation for the next team to be able to take that on and continue to try to keep us safe,' Perino was quoted, as saying. The commission has urged the next administration and Congress to pay particular attention to Pakistan, 'as it is the geographic crossroads for terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.
