Bollywood film 'Tahaan' all set to hit theatres
Mumbai:
Bollywood film 'Tahaan', which is a fable about
an eight-year-old boy 'Tahaan' and his donkey, is
all set to hit theaters on Friday. The film shot extensively
in the picturesque town Pahalgam in Kashmir. The makers
of the film said that 'Tahaan' does not directly depict
militancy or violence in the region, but deals with
these issues from the point of view of its eight-year-old
protagonist, Tahaan, who embarks on a quest to bring
back his donkey 'Birbal' after it is sold to repay
a loan. The boy's journey across the snowy landscape
is fraught with danger, including an encounter with
a teenager who promises to help him get the donkey
-- but only if Tahaan carries a grenade and a package
to the other side of the mountains. Bollywood actor
Anupam Kher, who is part of the movie, said that he
is sure that the cinemagoers having taste for good
films will appreciate the film. "It is good film and
the audience will enjoy. I wouldn't like to comment
on its commercial success or viability, but people
who appreciate good films will enjoy it for sure,"
said Anupam Kher. Besides Anupam Kher, director Santosh
Sivan's film stars Purav Bhandare, Rahul Bose, Sarika,
Victor Banerjee and Rahul Khanna. Rahul Bose described
the film as a world-class movie and felt proud to
be associated with it. "I think audience will get
a nice feeling by the end of this film that they have
seen something that is excellent. It's a world cinema
film and international film made from India," said
Rahul Bose. The film is produced under the banner
of 'I Dream Productions'..
